Kebab-themed staycation to take foodies on a doner-style pilgrimage

Kebab-lovers will soon be able to chow down on a doner and sleep at the UK's first ever kebab-themed staycation accommodation.

Featuring a bedroom with a naan-bed, chilli and garlic sauce bottle lamps, doner-inspired wallpaper and curtains, and even a ke-bath – the pop-up kebab pilgrimage is set to open later this year.

Appropriately named The Kebab House, being launched by award-winning takeaway I am Doner, the staycation housing will be fit for kebab royalty.

Artist impressions released today (Friday, July 8), to coincide with National Kebab Day, also show a living room kitted out with kebab-themed décor.

Guests will be able to scran and snap in front of a neon 'kebab not abs' sign, personalise their kebab with I am Doner’s exclusive condiment cabinet – complete with 50 of the world’s best condiments including the takeaway's 20 signature sauces – and sink into kebab-shaped pillows post-doner wrap.

It is also to feature a stain-resistant Snug sofa – ready for any chilli or garlic sauce drip marks.

“We’re absolutely obsessed with kebabs and so are our customers, whether it’s using over 100 high-quality ingredients in our kebabs, or making our in-house sauces," said Lynsey Benton, I am Doner’s brand manager.

"That’s why we’re offering our loyal customers the opportunity to take their obsession to the next level by creating a new pilgrimage to kebabs in the UK!"

While I am Doner hasn't revealed the accommodation’s exact location, it is reviewing a number of potential locations including Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool and London – with the possibility of The Kebab House pop-up going on tour to a selection of these locations.

Guests who want to be amongst the first to stay should sign up via I am Doner’s website – where they can also suggest a location for The Kebab House’s pop-up tour.

Lucky bookers will be contacted later this year to book in their stay for up to four people.
