Amazing new iPhone camera trick lets you create memes out of ‘almost anything’

An upcoming iPhone update will finally deliver an amazing camera feature that fans have been demanding for years.

Apple's latest feature, called Visual Look Up, is designed to automatically identify birds, insects, statues, and other objects using AI.

A new upgrade to it will let you tap and hold on the subject of an image, letting you cut it out from the background of a photo and use on other iPhone apps.

It means you can make your own memes or fun Instagram graphics for the first time without having to use Photoshop or another professional photo editing programme.

The feature is just one of many new additions to iPhones being released as part of the upcoming iOS 16.

Billed for an Autumn release, iOS 16 will give iPhone users the ability to customise their lock screens with more personalisation options than ever before.

You'll be able to have multiple lock screen designs and use widgets, custom fonts, wallpapers, photos and much more, just like on an Android device.

It's the first time Apple has given so much control over the iPhone's user interface, after years of heavily limited customisation options.

Craig Fererighi, Apple's SVP of Software Engineering, said in a statement: "iOS 16 is a big release with updates that will change the way you experience iPhone.

"We have reimagined how the Lock Screen looks and works with exciting new features that make it more personal and helpful, introduced iCloud Shared Photo Library for families, streamlined communication through new capabilities in Messages and Mail, and harnessed enhanced intelligence with updates to Live Text and Visual Look Up."

iOS 16 is likely to release in September 2022 following Apple's annual iPhone event.
