We've all been there: endlessly scrolling through Netflix, looking for something halfway-decent to watch buried deep within the platform's 38,000 hours of content.
It turns out that the source of your problems might not be the amount of shows and films to watch, but the way you've been navigating.
A TikTok video has revealed the secret codes you can use to access Netflix's hidden genres.
As well as your usual romantic and horror genres, there are even codes for more obscure subcategories, like gangster flicks, silent movies, and even basketball movies.
So if you know you specifically want to watch "movies based on children’s books" (code 10056) this trick can save you a lot of time scrolling through the much broader visual interface.
TikTok account Pop Culture Brain shows how you can use the hack to easily hone in on what you want to watch.
Almost every genre is available. All you have to do is type in one of the following codes into your Netflix search to access them. For example:
- Comic book / superhero movies (10118)
- Spy action & adventure (10702)
- Children & family movies (783)
- Classic war movies (48744)
- Romantic favourites (502675)
- Boxing movies (12443)
- Tearjerks (6384)
There are more than 235 different codes available. To view the full list, click here
