‘I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling (20)22…’ – that’s right, another year is upon us, as the world saw out 2021 with a blaze of fireworks displays (even if many of us had to watch from home).
With the passing of another year, it’s a perfect time to reflect on what we’ve just experienced.
Spotify Wrapped showed us what has soundtracked our year, and the annual Instagram Top 9 is a good way of getting a visual memento of your past 12 months too.
Instagram Top 9 has become something of a tradition the past few years. It generates your top nine pics of the year into a shareable post, and provides intel on how many likes your posts cumulatively got – giving users a nice little ego boost (or motivation to try harder…)
Here, we explain exactly how you can view your Top 9.
How to do Top 9 on Instagram
Finding out your Instagram Top 9 couldn’t be easier.
Just try the desktop tool or download the app to get started.
You will have to type in your Instagram username, and email address.
The Top 9 will then be sent to your email within the hour.
From there you can download the image to post or upload it to your Instagram Story.
You can also have the collage printed on things like phone cases and coffee coasters if you so please.
Either way, expect to see many people’s Top 9 collages over the next few weeks.
How to get rid of the Top 9 watermark
If you use the Top Nine website, it will have a watermark over the top which reads ‘Top Nine’ in an opaque font.
To get rid of the watermark, you could either pay a one-time fee of $2.99 (£2.19) to remove it and click ‘save without watermark’, or download a different app that will create a top post collage sans the watermark – such as Best Nine.
