New explosive Uncharted trailer shows Spiderman star Tom Holland as Nathan Drake

Fans of Sony's best-selling Playstation series 'Uncharted' are in for a treat, as the company has just dropped the brand new trailer for a blockbuster adaptation starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

The trailer sees the Spiderman star take up the mantle of a young treasure hunter Nathan Drake as he embarks on a globetrotting quest for riches.

.Accompanied by the wisecracking Victor "Sully" Sullivan, Drake looks for the greatest treasure never found – and his long lost brother along the way.

Fans of 'Indiana Jones' and Nicolas Cage's 'National Treasure' won't be disappointed either, as the film looks jam-packed full of puzzles, treasure, and death-defying stunts.

The hotly anticipated film will be released early next year in cinemas on February 11th, 2022.

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement.

"The new Uncharted trailer… I'm always sceptical of movie remakes of video games but I will not lie I am excited," wrote one user.

Others were a bit disappointed by the casting, as the videogame characters are both older.

"As an adventure movie, this looks super fun and just the kind of thing I usually enjoy. As an Uncharted adaptation though, it really misses the mark in the casting department," said another Twitter user.

The 'Uncharted' series is one of the most highly acclaimed videogame series in the world.

Made by Naughty Dog, the creators of Crash Bandicoot and The Last Of Us, there are more than four main games in the Uncharted series, four spinoffs, and several remasters.

It's not the only live-action adaptation of a blockbuster videogame. HBO is currently developing a series based on The Last Of Us, which is being written and directed by creator Neil Druckmann.
