Nokia re-releases iconic ‘brick’ phone for 20th anniversary – and it’s got Snake

If you want to reduce your smartphone use, but deleting Instagram isn't quite cutting it, Nokia might have an easy solution.

The Finnish company is re-releasing its iconic 'brick phone', complete with Snake, weeks-long battery life, and even an upgraded screen.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Nokia 6310 is being given a modern makeover in three new colours: black, dark green, and yellow.

It's also got a new 2.8" curved screen, which is over twice the size of its legendary older brother.

You won't be able to use TikTok, Instagram or most Internet-based apps, but it does include a wireless FM radio that you can tune into without a headset.

The original Nokia 6310 was famed for its durability, and this revamp will be no different as it sports an ultra-tough polycarbonate shell.

Unlike the new £800 iPhones, you probably won't need to fork out for expensive screen replacements any time soon.

It will be priced at £59.99, making it perfect for festivals or even just those weekends when you want to disconnect.

The original 6310i was one of the most popular phones ever produced in the era before smartphones. It is still used today by travellers and businesspeople for its simplicity and robustness.

'Dumb' phones like the new 6310 are becoming increasingly popular as people look to get away from constant connectivity.

Surveys show that Internet and smartphone usage went up 50-70% during the coronavirus pandemic.
