Instagram user nika.antea this week posted an amazing photograph of a huge disk cloud over Patagonia. And it seems alien hunters are convinced they have spotted a massive UFO hiding in the middle of it. The anomaly was discussed by alien life conspiracy theorist Scott Waring on his etdatabased.com blog.
He wrote: “Its absolutely huge and I imagine the UFO inside that created this cloud is about 20 percent the size of the cloud itself.

“This reminds me of the UFO cloud seen back in 1957 by a US soldier.
“Because of what happened in 1957, we know today that UFOs make these disk shaped clouds.”
Waring proceeds to recount the similar incident that took place more than 70 years ago.

He wrote: “In September, 1957, Private Stone was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
“It was about 9am while he was working inside buildings in the Post Engineer section, when someone yelled to him and others to come outside to see the odd thing coming over head towards their area.
“Private Stone and five or six others ran out and spotted an odd, black ring, moving slowly, high above the tree tops but below the broken cloud cover.
“The ring seems solid enough, not a smoke ring and Private Stone guessed the size of the ring to be about 60ft [20m] in diameter, with the ring width about five or six feet.
“Private Stone remembered his Kodak Brownie camera which was in his car. He ran over to the car, which was parked nearby, grabbed the camera and took six pictures in fairly rapid sequence.
“After the second picture was taken, the strange ring started to develop a mist around itself.
“The mist thickened rapidly until it was more like a small cloud and within 30 to 60 seconds the Black ring was completely enveloped within a small compact cloud of its own.
“Thus the evidence that UFOs make clouds is undeniable.“
However, closer inspection of the image from Patagonia suggests the object in question is simply an oddly-shaped cloud and the alleged alien discovery is rather a case of pareidolia.
Pareidolia, which is a form of apophenia, is an effect causing people to see recognisable shapes and patterns where they do not exist.
US-based space agency NASA said: “Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon where people see recognisable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or otherwise unrelated objects or data.
“There are many examples of this phenomenon on Earth and in space.”
While the existence of aliens has never been confirmed, the US Department of Defense (DoD) has recently acknowledged a video from a US Navy pilot’s radar footage of a mystery UFO with a ‘glowing aura’ and flying erratically.
The video first circulated back in 2017, but it took the DoD three years to acknowledge the video’s existence.
According to Pentagon spokeswoman Sue Gough, the sighting was released “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos”.
She said: “After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorised release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”
